Leona Edmiston’s ‘Girl of Summer’
The night’s theme was the ‘Cote D’Azure’ and the evening treated guests to an intimate, inspiring and sophisticated fashion journey. As canapés circled, Melbourne DJ Georgia Sinclair charged the atmosphere with her distinctive compilations before seats were claimed for the true festivities.
Upon a runway between dining tables, models paraded Leona’s favourite 30 looks from the collection. Vibrant colours, simple, classic cuts and a standout eveningwear section transported viewers to the shores of Europe. Soft, sheer fabrics in elaborate, busy prints captured the eye; a detail effectively harmonised with minimal accessories, modest cuts and striking makeup.
To complete the look, models wore a sexy, chic ponytail, as created by Hair Director Scott Sloan from Schwarzkopf Professional.
“We needed to ensure that the hair evoked feelings of the South of France and the style and luxury that it’s famous for,” Scott said.
“Ponytails are always on trend, but it was nice to mix this one up to really give it a glamorous edge. Smooth finishes and wrapped bases for this variation ensured the look was ultra-chic and feminine, but through adding volume to the crown and sweeping the front across the forehead to provide just a glimpse of earlobe gives the look one of effortless chic – so very French!”
In capturing the Leona Edmiston ‘Girl of Summer’ – stylish, sophisticated and international – Jill from MAC bronzed model’s cheeks in a sun kissed glow, painted lips an evocative red and left the eyes subtly shaded.
Following the fashion showcase, a sit down dinner left guests thoroughly sated as the wine flowed. Viewers were treated to a performance by Emma Birdsall and received a gift bag filled with goodies from Schwarzkopf Professional, MAC, Jo Malone, Mushroom Records, Party Feet, Cacao Chocolates, Leona Edmiston and Best Buds Florist.
